The Minister of Security and Justice of Salta went to the place where the terrible fire occurred to internalize everything. “In 32 minutes everything was turned off. They worked in a coordinated and fast way”.
The Minister of Security and Justice Abel Cornejo went to the scene of the terrible fire that consumed a large part of the Free Shop on Ituzaingó and San Martín streets. “We worked with the highest level of professionalism and in record time. Within 32 minutes the fire was fully controlled. I congratulated everyone who performed because they did great teamwork and coordination. I feel proud of them”.
Cornejo pointed out that “the tasks will continue for several more hours. If the fire had spread further, this could have been a real disaster. It was done quickly, efficiently and excellently with all the resources we have.”
“It is not yet known how the fire started. Justice is the one that must act and collect all the evidence to find out if it was something fortuitous or if someone acted criminally.
“It was a fire of great magnitude, it could have been a disaster, but the professionalism with which they worked made it possible to put out the fire in 32 minutes. I know in a coordinated way where all the actors, Volunteer Firefighters, Samec, Civil Defense, Aguas del Norte and the Municipality of Salta intervened.
“We do not know what the causes were yet, fortunately there are no victims to mourn or injuries. The excellent work also prevented neighboring buildings from being affected.”
Cornejo reiterated that now the one that must act to find out how the event occurred is Justice. “You must intervene, collect the necessary evidence and the reports made by the experts to reconstruct how everything happened.”
The minister warned that the “place is totally destroyed and that it must be completely rebuilt. It is impossible to return to work in the place”.
